The Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride is an annual statewide event of Coach Calhoun's to benefit The Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Connecticut Health Center and Coaches vs. Cancer, a program established in 1993 by the American Cancer Society. The ride is open to everyone who wants to join Coach Calhoun in the fight against cancer. There will be non-competitive rides of 10, 25 and 50 miles, with riders participating from across the Northeast. This fantastic day will culminate with a summer cook-out with live music. It is a day you won't want to miss!
Fundraising Requirements for all riders over the age of 18
The minimum fundraising requirement for each rider 18 years of age and older, regardless of whether you are on a team or not, is $400. Children between the ages of 14 to 17 can participate by paying the $30 registration fee with no fundraising requirements. Due to safety concerns, children under the age of 14 can not participate.
Important Deadlines:
Online registration deadline for individuals and teams is noon on June 12, 2009. The fee to register to ride is $30 (the entry fee does not count toward your fundraising minimum).
The donation deadline is August 1, 2009. All your donations must be handed in on or before August 1, 2009 in order to be counted against your fundraising requirement of $400 per rider.

All gifts for the benefit of the Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride should be made payable to The UConn Foundation, Inc. The Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) corporation designated by the University of Connecticut to raise and administer private gifts and grants that support the pursuit of excellence. Donors who are supporting the Jim Calhoun Cancer Challenge Ride have the right to request in writing that their gifts remain anonymous.
